I"m looking for a JD tractor that will fit in my garage and travel at 12 mph or more for tractor rides. The "WHO Radio" tractor ride here in Iowa is making this request. I have been looking at Ford 8N tractors and others that size but would like to keep in JD green and garage stored. Any suggestions? Any color would be considered but do not know enough about others speed of travel for a tractor that size.

Thanks

RG

A John Deere 430 or 420 would certainly be in the running. Top gear at 12mph. Plenty of them available.

Would hate the liability depending on those brakes. If using two cylinder would rather have row crop.

They are tight but got six of them in one side of the garage. Take your pick.

I was thinking M, 40, 420. Not sure of travel speed. They will be a garage fit (28x28x8). Been on the WHO ride for 16 years with my 82 year old Dad with B threw 530. I like the size of the smaller tractors and am short on space.

My 1948 M with 11.2-24 tires will travel a GPS-indicated 12.6 mph wide open on level ground.

John Deeres are not known for their speed. Other brands are.
A 4020 with muffler will go into a 7.5 foot door. I know for a fact as I made my door to that size and bought a special door.
Should go in 7 foot fine with muffler off.
I had a late B,H,LA and 720 diesel all in the basement 2 car garage of the old home. 720 was only one needed muffler pulled off. I might of had to trim a bit off the B?

My wife parks her car in the garage on 1 side. My 4020 WILL NOT FIT under a 7' door. It has a ROPS.

Mid to later styled A, up to '49 model year. Will do way over 12 mph but will fit in garage door. It is tight but it will fit.
