I have a HD 605. Wondering what year it is, serial # is 34200154. Also it has the external oil cooler on it. Can I disconnect it and cap it off or does it have to retain the plumbing through the filter assembly? Thanks for the help.

if it is like the one on the hd800 you cant plug it off cause it wont build oil pressure. we had to drill by pass holes in the oil filter housing

I have no info on prefix 342 other than it is designated for HD605s. It is interesting that 345 and 346 were used for gas and diesel Vistas starting in 1967 and you have engine no. 154. I would guess about 66 or 67. Also 344 was used for Jet Star 3 Orchard diesel starting in 1967.
