OK, so it seems a number of 8N owners name their
tractor(s). The only one that has been used for
the '49 I picked up a month or so ago came from my
1 1/2 year old granddaughter: "My Tractor". I
don't think that will stick except in her mind!!
So, what do you call YOUR tractor?

I used to name them but have been through a few tractors in the past few years so don't name them much now.
I'm kind of a closet WWII naval history buff so always gave them historical names.
I still have my little go-to mowing tractor I call Arleigh Burke as it is a rough and tough, don't try this at home, get er done machine. - after one of my heros in the fighting around Guadalcanal.
For a while I had an oversized engine in one of them so I called it Musashi as it seemed like the Musashi/Yamato battleships it burned about 43 tons of fuel per hour at battle speed. But I sold that one.
I'm building a new one here that might replace
Arleigh Burke one of these days.
Hadn't thought about naming it but now that you mention it maybe Admiral Halsey will do.

WRONG color, but my 4020 is named "Ingrid" after my deceased neighbor's Norwegian-born wife Ingrid.

Ingrid spent MANY hours pulling a pull-type combine or haying with that tractor!

I named my Grandfather's '49 Farmall Super A after him: Ernest.

My Father had a '52 8N that I recovered from permanent retirement out in the field after he passed. I named it after him: Glen.

I had a Farmall 140 but not long enough to name, it was just "the 140".

And I picked up another '52 8N a few years ago. My Wife made me get rid of one of my existing tractors to buy it, so the 140 had to go! I named that 8N after the guy I bought it from: Frank.

I needed names after I got the 2nd 8N to distinguish between them. The names were obvious choices.

Cubby! My wife claimed this tractor from the git go, so she thought she should get to name it. Since we have several tractors but don't farm any more, naming them seemed like the thing to do. Back a few years when she threatened to divorce me over something she didn't like, she would always say "you know, I'm keeping the house, AND CUBBY" since she knows Cubby is my favorite!

The 8N is named by my wife as 'Missy'..short for mistress Very Happy
The 2N is also named by my wife and kids as 'Grasshopper' because over the years of wear and tear it does look like a big grasshopper.

When the grandkids were younger they had names for them....Ernie....Bert (from Beatrice, NE), and Big Bird (the 860)

I just call them the 860 and the N"s, and when they need fixing, well, can"t tell you what all they have been called.

My 960 is Ben Harvey after the man I got it from & a guy who was a great help in me getting it home.
The 8N was bought from a cemetery where it had lay dead for a few years so I call it Casper.

Same here - it's "the 8N." The '52 we had when I was in High School was named Franklin.
