Well the 560 is heavier, but according to tractor data, the 830 puts out a touch more power. As far as pulling 4 16's, that'd depend on your soil I'd think it'd be a little light for 4 16's, but someone with experience with the 830 can tell you more.

I had a 560 that I ran my 1014 hydro-swing with and now have a 830CK as far as lugging power and how it handles the 1014 the 830 is much better and has much better traction as well, my book shows the 560 weighs 6172lbs and a 830CK at 8585lbs and a eagle hitch 830 7270lbs

I had an 830 gas that I pulled a 4x16 JD plow with last year. I have pretty heavy clay soil here and the old 830 pulled it like a champ in 3rd low! Not sure about a c.o.m, never had one. But the 830 gas sure sucked the fuel!!! Anyway, the 830 should do fine. Just depends on how fast you wanna go and how deep you wanna plow. 560 is a great tractor too! It would be nice to have both!!

My 560 is a bit over 7k. I've been pretty happy with it, but I've only had it since November and only recently have started using it a fair amount, so take that for what it's worth.

Regarding weight, I was just going off of what tractor data listed for weights.

I got my info from Hotline farm guide, not saying the 560 is a bad tractor, I have a neighbor that is IH and has two dsl he really likes, I always liked the sound of the 6 cylinder dsl, I personally never liked the one I had for what I used it for it was geared wrong and did not ride as well as my 830's,, the torque did not work on the one I had so that held it back as far as gears, the hyd system on the 830CK is much faster as well

I have both, 560 diesel, and 830 CK diesel, 8 speed. The 830 will just plain out pull the 560. I have 4-16 for both and have run them both in the field and there is enough differents that you can tell it. I must admit that the 560 is a little easier to use. Easy to shift, PS is more responsive. Not a fan of the 2 point. Just my opinion!!

Our 830 diesel dual range pulled 5 14s in NW CO adobe which I think would be similar to heavy clay soil. IT never looked back and that was at 7,000 ft elevation too.

Ask the question on the IH board and you'll probably get a different answer.

The 560 was the one that had the rep for ripping the rear ends apart, wasn't it?

Learned to drive pulling 4-16's and a 14' disc behind an 830 com. The disc will give it more trouble than the plow but it will pull both. Our neighbor had a 560 and it wouldn't keep up with our 830.

The 830 has 301 cu.in. the 560 is a 282, generally there is no replacement for displacement. The 830 is rated at 66 hp and the 560 at 72 hp(go figure). We had a 560 d for a long time, it had more power than the 450 it replaced but didn't lug as well, it was a penny pincher on fuel though. The 830 is just a generally heavier built tractor, I would compare them more in the 706 catagory. I think my 730 feels really similar to our 656 when sitting on the seat. Mike

The 560 has more HP because of the higher RPM's but RPM's don't lug, low end grunt does. I'd compare an 830 to an 806. Closer in size and drawbar pull.

I have been around both enough to know pulling, lugging the 830 will walk circles around the 560. I"m not a fan of the head cracking 282 six cylinder,or the TA. Case 301 and case-o-matic are both very durable !!
