Well I just got home with the 175 I bought. It was quite the adventure in a snowstorm with a 2 wheel drive F150. Luckily a good Samaritan towed us up one hill. We almost made it but we ran out of wood ashes. Of course the sun was shining by the time we got home! I still need to sort out the clunking in the transmission.

I gave three thousand for it. The grill has a couple bad spots in it but at least it's all there and it is a repaint but overall she seems to be a good strong runner. It does however have the clunking noise in the transmission I posted about earlier. I'm thinking about splitting it tonight and having a look see what's going on. It's my first Massey with IPTO so I don't know what'll be different in there from my 180 without IPTO.

Don't you get that white stuff in Ohio Tom? We went through 60 miles of it to fetch this thing home. I thought spring was supposed to be here? A couple places I thought we were going to unload the tractor and tow the truck!

Nice lookng tractor Warren. I never can get used to the 100 series with out headlights in the grille!. Does the IPTO brake work? A big secret to the life span of these brakes is to ALWAYS run the engine right down to tick-over before disengaging the PTO. Any machine that has a habit of over-running when the PTO is disengaged, like a bush-hog.....make sure you have an over-run clutch fitted. the over running of these machines destroys IPTO brakes. Good luck with your purchase..............Sam

Thanks Sam. So it's like the Super 90 in respect to the PTO, you need to idle down to engage?disengage. It might end up with the European style headlights yet as there are some crusty spots in the grill where the lights would be. I'll probably be keeping it on the round baler for the most part. I spied a 65 two places down from where I bought this one, so I'll be checking that out if spring ever gets here.

I bought one a few years ago to tinker with (needed a block) then resell. I still have it. The more I used it for raking bailing and brush hogging the more I liked it. Very easy on fuel and surprising power for a little guy. I do get nervous when I'm on the wagon and my wifes bailing. She has instructions to not touch the multi power lever(leave it in high). Don't have big hills but do have hills.

That sure does look good for the price. Hope the transmission issue isn't a big deal.
