I have this old scat track skid steer with a perkins 4.236 diesel engine. It was running fine when I got a few weeks ago although I didn't put more than a couple of light hours on it.
I changed the oil and new filter to specs. This am the low engine oil light is on, but there is plenty of oil on the dip stick. How would you proceed to test the lubrication system? I am thinking it could be a sensor but don't want to run the tool without being sure.

I had a 1010 crawler with same problem and before doing anything rash I changed the oil sensing unit and found it to be defective with new sensing unit the light went out. You also might be able to put in a temporary oil pressure gage to see what is going on.
