The only thing I'll trade for when listing on Craigslist is cash.

Its a free service. Unfortunately, the lowballers are just part of the deal.

I do a good bit of dealing on Craigs list and low ball offers are just a fact of life, hit delete and let it go is my advise. Lots more good people than bad. The last 4 items I sold went for listed price to first person that contacted me, a few of those type sales sure helps get past the LBs.

I've sold equipment on CL and I've bought
equipment on CL. I buy it, use it, resell it on CL.
There are tire kickers everywhere... You just have to
be able to tell how serious they are.. Usually, Pics
and Price = Purchases.

Take your original Craigslist ad down and replace it with: "Cash only, prices FIRM".

If you're going to sweat things like lowballers you shouldn't be trying to deal on CL,if I get one good prospect out of every 10 people that get in contact with me I consider it a good day.I always just let them
email me no phone posted then I can rule out about 85% of the responders by not replying to their email, then when I reply I give my phone number and tell them to call if they are interested
that kicks out a bunch more as most that call are reasonably interested.

I've gotten some great trades off CL,people have things they don't want/need but no cash and will trade something that has a lot of value for something that doesn't.

Thats what I ended up doing. I quess I still haven't learned to put "price is firm" though. Thing of it is if someone was serious I would come down. But certinly not when your offering me half of the asking price. Sod buster

I just bought my 3rd vehicle off Craigslist..It was a 1991 Ford Ranger with 114,000 miles located
250 miles away priced for $1600...It had been on for several weeks so I emailed him and said whats
your best price...He said $1300 and I'll meet you part way..So we met and the truck was just like
he said it was and even had a nearly full tank of gas..

The white 1997 Ford F-350 behind the Ranger is a Craigslist truck from Tyler,Texas that had 122,000
miles..The 460 did crack a head but I got 2 years of use out of it and I'm now replacing it with
a head from a $300 Ford 460 from a Craigslist ad..

My best buy was this one owner 2004 Grand Prix with only 68,314 miles....I found the ad about
10 minutes after it was placed or I would have never gotten it as his phone rang off the wall..

I also sell on Craigslist and have had pretty good luck....No matter where you advertise there will be
always be low ballers..I've put stuff for sale on here and have been low balled..

I have an two ads on Craiglist to sell two old cars that I am never gonna get to. In the Craiglist ad, I have stated: "CASH ONLY", No PAYPAL, no checks, etc. I still get people that want to sent checks or do PAYPAL. Constantly have to ask them, "Did you read the ad completely? It says: "CASH ONLY". Really irrates me after awhile. And I'm not asking for a lot of money for these two cars. Just want to sell them off to clean out my "inventory"

If somebody tries to talk me down on the phone,I just say no,I've had a lot of interest in it,I'll give them a chance to get here to look at it. That lights a fire under anybody who's serious and gets rid of the tire kicking "pawn star" wannabees.

Not saying you're wrong to want cash, but I was pondering something when I bought a tractor off CL last month and asked the guy if he wanted cash or a check. What's so different about CL that you have to meet in a public place and pay cash? Used to be if somebody advertised in a print ad they'd tell you how to get to their house and take a personal check when you got there.

My thing about lowballers is, it doesn't hurt to ask. You never know. The guy may just be fishing for a high price and would accept a lower offer, or even a trade. Maybe the guy has a soft spot for junk tractors. You just never know.

There's no sense in getting all butthurt about it. If you're not agreeable to the deal, just say no, or don't respond.

I have to remind myself not to get irritated. So many people don't read the ads completely. After 25 texts / calls it gets old.

While I agree people low ball on CL (Just sold a vhull flat bottom boat to pay property taxes and people were offering far below what I was worth when it was already a great deal) a lot of people set things too high then refuse to haggle. Like someone is going to give you 5k for that 8N with the engine smoking...

BTW heres the "gold mine" thats worth a $4k truck AND money to boot.

Didnt even know if the lights worked. I guess its so compilicated to hit a switch and see if they light up. I wasnt asking why they didnt work. Only do they light up or not. If he cant tell me that then what else is he "forgetting" to tell me
