The shuttle gears are set up that way on purpose as to be able to back out of your pile quicker to go dump. Then the forward is slower so you have more torque to push In the pile to fill your bucket. I believe the forward gearing on the shuttle is like a direct drive while reverse is a slight overdrive to go faster. All power is transmitted though the shuttle first so technically on the dual range 210 will go faster In reverse road gear rather than forward. Haha.

The difference is in the gear ratio between fwd and rev in the shuttle transmission that is mounted in front of the 4 speed transmission. You are using the same 4 speed transmission gears in fwd and rev but different gears in the shuttle transmission.

I don't have a 200B parts book, go to this CaseIH link to view 300B shuttle parts, same or similar to 200B.

Was the shuttle on the Case a case product? I see Sherman made one for ford in the late 50's, but it would seem Case may have been a little ahead of them. I wonder which manufacturer was first?

The gearing in the shuttle box is different from forward to reverse. nothing wrong, it's built that way on purpose.

Well, I got the deal done today! I was never able to hear it run or drive it because it has been so cold up here but, the tractor is only 20 miles away so if it does not run, I hopefully have some recourse!!! The fella selling it seems like a good guy. He just needed a bigger loader for his little farm. The only thing that worries me is he is selling a case instead of just adding another one to the herd!!!

Thank you to all of you for the input on this tractor!
