A town 10 miles N.W. as a crow flies from me reported they got 16 inches in 2 hours from lake effect.
Another town reported 22 inches in under 4 hours.
I only got about 6 inches when the band headed south.

I know many others on here get hammered from lake effect. How did you make out?

You can keep that down your way. We get bands of lake effect from lake Ontario sometimes when the wind gets just right. Not that often. We are far enough north.

Brendon, I'm located between Central Square and Fulton.
It was Lake Ontario lake effect that did this.

Well since you mentioned Fulton and lake Ontario, was it 6 or 7 years ago. Remember when that area got hammered? The area around Mexico got plastered. There was another little town to the east that got around 183 inches in a little over six days of lake effect snow. I went up a week later and was staggered how deep the snow was. They had to dig out Mexico's main street with a rotary blower and tractor trailers full of snow. Just love the size of those storm king plow trucks up 5here. Never thought I would ever see trucks with huge front plows, and a left and right fold down wing plows. What monsters! Just love the Orange paint job!

Jeff, this is my 9th winter in this house so, yup, I remember.
Had a tired snowblower that wasn't able to throw the snow over 7 ft high bank in my driveway.

I grew up with Dad running a 64 Galion grader for NYSDOT outa LaFayette NY. It had different 2 front blades. A 12ft angle and a V-blade plus a R/H wing. One of the 10 wheelers trucks had a (IIRC) 'flip' angle plow with wings on both sides. A couple trucks had had regular angle blades and 2 wings. None had what is now often seen, a center of rig scraper blade.
This was in the 60s and 70s.
