At the local Deere dealer today I was looking at a 410 round baler excellent shape looks brand new. Makes 850 pound bales. The sales man was trying to sell it to me today but I donít know if price is too high 3,800 dollars. Want to get out of square baling too much work and getting to old. I usual have some one come and round bale about 50 bales. I would like to go all round bales this year wanted too for years. The baler is perfect match for Oliver 1755. What do you guys think? Think I will go to tomorrow and close the deal and trade in the 336 square baler and racks. I will see what you guys think about this deal.

Never had any experience with a 410, but it's bigger brother the 510 wasn't near the baler the 530 and 535 were. But, if you are only going to bale 50 bales, it might be just right for you if it is in excellent shape, like you said. You will probably pay quite a bit more for a 430 or 435, but the price for these series has dropped off quite a bit in the last few years. Good luck with whatever you get.

Cowman that's alot more than a 410 will bring down here. If I were you I'd look for a later model open throat baler with a monitor. Way easier to run, don't have to look back as often and makes alot better bale of hay. The bottom belts are expensive, hard to change out and have a very good tendecy to "flip over" on the JD 410 plus the twine arm isn't automatic tie either. I wouldn't care to run a JD 410 ever again. If that bale is not a open throat baler, run don't walk away. As far as I know the 410 is built similar to the 510. Lots of folks on this form say that auctioneers have trouble getting bids on 510s.

For that kind of money look at JD430s or Vermeer 504 series balers.

just mt 2 cents

John

Down here in TX for that amount you should be able to get a JD 530 or Vermeer 605 F. Im my opinon both the 530 and Vermeer would be a much better baler for you

we had a 410 for years, not to be too blunt,if you can't afford a good baler, save yourself the misery and just pick 'em up after someone else bales them for you.pd

Your JD 336 is worth 2-3 times of the JD410 round baler.
The reason the bale looks brand new is because it will not bale 80% of the time. Run and from the JD410. You can get a JD410 or 510 for $500 at most auctions any where in the USA.

Run from the 410 and that price is crazy for it!!
get you a 430 or newer JD and you will love it and for the money you are talking you can buy a good 430 JD baler.. Good luck

I ran a 510 for a few years and have to agree with all of the comments saying to run from this baler ! Even if you get used to all of its quirks it still won't make a tight bale. The only good point about them is that they don't take much horsepower to run - I ran my 510 behind a 1600 Oliver and never ran out of power, so your 1755 would really be loafing with the 410.
