The tractor was purchased last winter, been setting in a garage for the past 15 years, unused. Have been tinkering with this machine for the past few months and while working on the tractor today, we noticed a crack in the side of the aluminum bowl of the Zenith carburetor. Next question other than purchasing a new replacement, can repairs be made to this aluminum bowl? Yes the tractor started up today rather quickly, motor is well used and I have replaced many parts including rear rims and the list goes on. Determined to made a play tractor with this machine. Many years ago probably 60 my grandfather purchased one of these tractors. The tractor when purchased was all red, since been changed to gray, starting to take shape. Cheers, Murray |

I imagine you could heliarc the bowl to seal the crack or maybe even use JB Weld on it. I think you might warp the bowl if you did the former and I don"t know if the latter would hold. You might look on ebay and see if you can find a used Marvel-Schebler TSX 361(TO-20) or TSX 312(TE-20) carb. They were the OEM carbs. |

Did the Continental engine TE20 have a Zenith carby? Perhaps Murray has a TE20, not TO20?
Murray, 50 to 60 years ago Fergusons of all heritage came in one color - Ferguson gray. I think the first red tractors were MF after 1956. |

Sorry, Bob for the misunderstanding of the presentation of my message. Should have said the tractor was previously gray under all the "RED" paint, only this was a very light color gray and the one my grandfather owned was a dark blueish gray of which this one has now been repainted for a start. I continue to need assistance on the carb. Will post a picture of before and after in a few day's received a digital camera for Christmas. Sometimes we think we are not making much progress until we can look back and see what has been accomplished. Thanks, Murray |

Ooops. Sorry, just noticed from Jerry's post the TE20 had a Marvel-Schebler TSX 312 carb.
If you have a TO20 has the carby been changed?
The TEA20 had a Zenith 24T2 carby:
