I have a 1929 D with full steel. We currently do not have the lugs or rings on it since we like to parade with it. Loading it on the trailer is always tought though because of wheel spin.
The question is have any of you made rubber lugs or such for your tractors like this? I know they would need to be pretty tough since the D is not a light tractor. One idea I had was to use the rubber horse mats like you can get at Tractor Supply and cut and bolt them on. Probably a 3" by 12" piece angled on the rear wheels and a 2" strip around the fronts.
Anyone tried this? Will the bolts just pull out if I use a large washer? I hate to spend $600 on made ones from Miller Tire.

We find an old tractor tire with good lugs on it and cut the sidewall off and bolt them onto the rims a bolt every foot or so and they hold,I wouldnt put them in a tractor pull but can pull a wagon around

I will second the suggestion of using tire treads cut off an old tractor tire. There has been a set of those bolted onto our '28 for probably thirty years.
