Standard Monarch 47366

I bought this garden tractor on an impulse buy the other day while looking at some John Deere tractors. I have not been able to get it out of his building into the light yet but it appears correct and original in every way. The serial number is 47366. Can someone give me a year? If I interpreted the info on other sites correctly it would seem an early 30's. It has a buzz coil and wooden handles. The story goes that it has never been started. I have heard those before though. The engine is free and this guy owned it a long time He says he never attempted to start it and neither did the previous owner. I will post some pictures when I get it home. For something that old I have never seen anything else that looked so nice. It has the appearance of never having been used. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Here's a Monarch owned by a man in KY. He received a big bruise when cranking it so be careful. I've had 5 or 6 Standardtwin garden tractors and one Viking. I still have the moldboard plow off the Viking. Hal

With just the five digit serial # with NO letters in it, it should be a model made 1928 to 1933. Probably no mention of "Monarch" on it. Indicator is the big sucker-valve on the engine. If no sucker valve, it's more apt to be a Walsh.
I've got a bunch of all of them (Walsh, Monarch, Standard Twin and Viking Twin).

Thanks. I am pretty sure it has the sucker valve and it says Standard Monarch on the tag. I will report more when I get it home. Thanks FB

If it says "Monarch" on the tag, it's was made toward the end of five-digit number run.

I just acquired a 1936 Standard Monarch that I'd love to restore and get running. The previous owner had started the process but then gave up, I guess. The engine is in pieces, but I believe all the parts are there with the exception of the air filter and the starting crank handle. The engine on this one uses a magneto, not the buzz coil and battery.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for information on this? All my web searches seem to all come to a dead end.

I have a 1934 Standard Monarch that needs a crank. If you are still interested in selling a crank, please feel free to email me. Also, if do you happen to know if it would even fit my standard?
