I have a loader on the front of my 8n that gets stuck up frequently. Once it gets stuck up it will break free after 5 minutes or so. Turning the tractor off does not help. The line to the loader runs off the bottom of the hydraulic pan. I"ve read about problems with the 3 point arms getting stuck up and I saw that with that I would need to pull the inspection cover under the seat and clean out the value. I've ordered a manual to help me with that. My question is that my 3 point arms work great, but the loader gets stuck up. Should I be looking at something different. |

The control valve is sticking. Excess pressure like when you allow the loader to reach the top of it's travel and begin to open the pressure relief valve in the pump it's too much pressure and the control valve can stick. Dirty oil contributes to the sticking too.
Clean and flush out the pump area of the drive train and replace the oil if it's dirty or watery.

Zane, I purchased a manual hoping it was going to help me. It helps me ID the various parts but that is about it.
I pulled the inspection cover and the oil looks really, I was actually surprised it has been a few years since I changed it. But the tractor doesn't get used much.
If I understand this situation correctly you suggest that I drain the oil, then clean it out with kerosene. Should I drop the pump and clean out the control valve. Or can I clean out the control valve through the inspection cover.
If I drop the pump do you suggest I mess with the left or right valve chambers or safety and exhaust valve. |
