Take hold of the control rod down close to the bottom and with the PTO turning see if it will go forward???? If not then the control valve is stuck. It can usually be un stuck by moving the control rod back and forth till it comes loose.

Be sure that the little lever under the seat is in the up position for position mode. If it has been accidentally moved down in Draft mode it's a pretty good chance the draft mode does not come up. Draft mode is the first to stop working because of the beating it gets.

Pressure builds as a result of a restriction. With the plug out, open flow, no restriction, no pressure.

okay, I checked the control rod and it does move forward and back, the draft control lever is in the up position still no response. What next?
As I mentioned in my original post when I removed the two small plugs at the top of the pump[with the pump running] I expected some high pressure to escape but just low pressure. Any ideas? Idea Confused ww123

I ain't Zane, but when he asks if control rod is moving, he most likely wants you to see that it moves forward enough to make the pivoting arm touch the pump casing as in picture.

Yes the control rod does move the pivot arm to the case as in the photo. It moves it back and forth freely. ww123 Confused
