Last evening when chiseling ground my rear light flickered out and would not come back on. Today when checking it the only lights that work is the outside lamps on both fenders; the inner lights on both fenders and the rear lamp does not come on. I have flashing lights on both fenders and they do not operate no matter watch the light switch position is turned to. I ran a curcuit tester to the terminals on the light switch with no results. Dash lights, fuel gauge work fine. I can only imagine my light switch needs to be replaced or is there something else? The wire from the left side battery and fuse appear okay. Any assistance is greatly apprecited.

On the back of the switch panel there are two circut breakers, do you have power through both of them? On the light switch there is a battery A and Battery B terminals. Each battery feeds half the lights, is there power to both terminals? If you have power to both of those terminals you may need a switch, but you should be able to tell if you have power on the output terminals with with your test light.

Check or replace the small ground wire on the left hand battery.Could have a slo blow fuse in a fuse holder that is blown.

I tried a new light switch but did not solve the problem. Using a test light I do not have power to both terminals on the switch. I tried jumping the circuit breaker below with no luck. The fuse on the left battery side is working. Do maybe I need a new ignition switch?

Save your sanity and switch it over to 12 volts....every thing will start getting right then, you could have a "feed-back" in the starter or generator that could be causeing most of your trouble....

Kinda feeling a little embarassed about this-I did not take off the cowl and inspect the ingnition swtich before installing the new light switch-what I found after removing the cowl not only was there a connection that had worked it's way off the terminal on the ignition switch but the terminal on which it connected to was very loose on the backing. I connected the terminal and the lights work as before except I have to replace the ignition switch. Thanks to everyone for your assistance.
