Hi .. My FMD starter is not strong .. Can anyone suggest an alternative starter , perhaps gear reduction , or a higher amp. rating model that will bolt on .. TY.

Check the brushes, and give starter a general going over, clean it up. makes a world of difference
Changed my brushes and it is like a new starter now.
Have a 1963 FSM Diesel

had mine rebuilt at a local starter/alternator shop strong as ever!
