Hi everyone. I am trying to find out if this looks like the right Serial number, or even if it"s the Serial number at all. ( 2GKN1372 ) the info on the tractor is: 3610 Fordson/Dexta. Live PTO/Live HYD. It has the Perkins engine in it. The enging was rebuilt in 1997 but is leaking oil where the engine mounts to the Trans. I am thinking it a rear main seal. |

I'm sorry! I found the S/N, 1441843. So i'm guessing this is a 1957. From the looks on the Serial numbers list you have on this site. The starting serial for a 1957 Fordson Major Dsl is 1412409. I guess I'm confused since the tractor says "Fordson/dexta. |

Hi Kurt,
The number you posted, 1441843, looks like the engine serial number and I would guess it to be in a Fordson Dexta built in Aug/Sept 1959.
The tractor serial number should run vertically down the front flange of the clutch housing on the left side where it joins the engine.
If the engine and/or clutch housing is original then it might look something like 957E 40123.
There are also date codes on the right side of the 3 main housing, top of the hydraulic cover and back of both axles and behind the injecton pump on the motor.
Cheers,
Les |
