What model is this JD plow? The paint and lettering is all but gone.

Looks like a 55 A-B-H. I have several of them, both ground lift and hydraulic lift. |

Yeah, looks like a #55 ABH to me..curious though, it's got brackets for the hydraulic cylinder and only the leveling lever but also has the mechanical lift mechanism on the land wheel..don't guess I've ever seen one like that before. |

It is a 55H, the other letters(A and B) were similar looking but different models. That is why there was a dash (-) between the A,B, and H on the plow from the factory. The H stands for hydraulic. |

I missed the lift clutch on first look, the Dukster is right, Montgomery Ward had a kit to convert Clutch lift plows to hydraulic cylinder in their 1956 catalog. That's the only one I know of but would guess others were available. Likely your plow started as a 55B and got upgraded. |

I just replaced the the left tire on my JD 55 A-B-H Plow. Am reinstalling the lift gear and pin but can't get the gear on the axle far enought to get the pin back in. I assume the lift gear goes on the axle with the notches facing toward the plow. Please advise. Thanks. Mollymarmink Minnesota |
