Hello Folks, I have recently inherited an operational Fordson Dexta. Not sure the year model but am guessin late fifties. Tractor runs and is serviceable. I drove it last week. Does have some issue with a relay going to the starter but otherwise all seems to work. I am debating as to whether i should keep her or sell. I would like to get some idea of the value. Also I am somewhat curious as to how hard it is to find parts were I to keep the tractor for my own use. I'm not interested in a show piece, just something to use around the house and small acreage farm.I can provide someone photos if given an email address. Thanks.

For what its worth, I bought this Super Dexta a year and a half ago for $900.

Ended up putting a new clutch in it. The trans seals were leaking and had it soaked with oil. It had a loader at one time and the clutch was pretty well worn out anyway. Also did the head gasket. Still have a couple other oil leaks to tend to, but overall its a nice tractor. Had no problems finding parts so far.

I can"t understand why anyone would sell something left to him by a friend or family member . The person must"ve thought a lot about you enough to leave you this Texta , so if you have use for it , why sell ? I told my daughters & grandchildren that if they plan on selling what I leave them , well, I may as well sell it myself instead of hoarding it for them . I hope you do the rite thing . God bless, Ken

Ken,
Thanks for your concern! You sound just like my Dad. However, you need not worry. This tractor was just a recent purchase by my father-in-law, not something that was a great sentimental value. In addition to that it wasn't exactly left to anyone in particular as much as it is part of the estate the family is now trying to settle. That being said, I would still like to find out what a reasonable price would be.

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. It is encouraging to hear that parts were not hard to find.
