I've got a Magneto coil tester that could give
you an answer in seconds..I'm in Western Wis.,
near LaCrosse An "Old Magneto Man" however did
the test under a heat lamp, for 15 minutes or so,
as they're more likely to fail as they get hot.
Finally..if the points look ok and are gapped
properly, the thing that most often fails, even
when sitting, is the condenser.
Magneto points, condenser,coils, are still
available, Y/T even has them, under electric parts
my e-mail is open if you need more help. |

Take the condenser our and clean it with fine sand paper. Also clean any brackets that hold the condenser or places in the magneto where it sits. This has worked many times for me. |
