I can't see email links for users who are telling me (or telling other users) that their email is open. I use modern view almost exclusively, but I've tried classic as well. I've looked through my own settings, I've cleared cookies and cache and started over, I've tried now on 3 different machines, and I simply cannot see email links for anyone. What am I missing?

Email isn't open on Modern though sometimes people enable it prior to my setting it back off again. Modern puts "open" email out in the open where spammers can use it. That causes them to intensify their attacks on the servers, the results are dramatic. So as of yet, no open email on Modern.

On Classic, by open, it means there is a "Send Email" link on posts they've chosen to put email on. This will work and I am trying to extend that capability to modern view.

OK, I stated that I tried it in classic before coming to support, so let's look at a specific ...

In this post where Dave S instructed me to send him an email, all I can see is [No Email], while D Slater reports in this post that the email link is available to him in Dave S' post.

Explanation?

If you aren't logged in on Classic, you won't see the "Send Email" link. To log in, just go to the Test Forum, click Classic View, click Post New Message, put in your username, put test in subject and message, then click the button at the bottom, when the screen refreshes, enter the password. Then submit the post when it displays. From then on, you will be logged in to Classic too and the Send Email should show up.

Yes, they are totally different systems, the posts and usernames are shared, but the details like logins aren't.
