Well my dad just informed me today that our TD15C motor is knocking bad once again. Have already rebuilt this motor twice and rather than having it machined and line bored etc I think I'm better off finding a motor out of maybe an International farm tractor. It has the DT466 Turbo. Has anyone here ever swapped a farm tractor engine on these and are they pretty much the same? How hard is the swap?

Farm tractor swap is almost too easy. You will change the rear engine housing ,be sure to use your rear seal then depending on what tractor the intake ( intake on dozer is cast iron ) You will need to use your oil pan and again depending on what engine may have to change the front cover but all in all same block, The truck engine change requires fuel pump changes and a little more but have also used the short block from the trucks. Price of good running 466 engines has really dropped in the last year or so.

I live in middle Georgia. Where is a good place around here to find a replacement engine and how much would I be looking for a good used one?
