The 3C has a sight gauge, some models had it inside the cab in the right hand corner in front of the brake pedal, others had it beside the hydraulic filter outside, open the right door the hyd filter is there, the oil is filled through the plug on top of the filter which is ok if the filter is new and dry,if old its a PIA to fill, the way around that is to first remove the bypass valve spring, look at the top of the filter, you will see two large hexagon plugs, one on top and the other going in from the side facing you, remove the one going in from the side, remove the spring and put the plug back and nip it up,a two and quarter inch socket is needed, spring out and plug back in start the engine for a few seconds,.stop it and now remove the top plug and you can pour the oil straight in,when it reaches the level put the spring back im and tighten up the two plugs, never start the engine with either plug out it will spew the oil out, JCB do their own hydraulic fluid,at my place all we ever use is Shell Tellus 32
