425 quit like out of gas

I was mowing with my 425 in Roch MN (93 and humid) and it quit, like it ran out of gas. It ran for a second 2 times before nothing. A Friend wiht a 345 said vapor lock. It has set now for 3 hrs and still nothing. Ran battery down and recharging. What can I do???

Check the coil and ignitor (Kawasaki engines).

are you getting gas to the carb?

Check for spark. If none, check coils, triggers and ignitor(most likely)

If you have spark, see if the intank pump is running. If not, check for voltage at the connector. If you find 12v there change pump.

simple way to see if fuel (remove air filter) pour LITTLE gas into carb body, turn it over see if she fires if she does you simply not getting gas if not you need to check the spark plugside to see if got spark. its always one or the other simple as that.

That's all way to involved. Simple stuff first. Look at thetime delay module. Next look at the carb soliniod. Remember the "kiss" theory.

Before you do anything change the spark plug. It may look good but can still be bad.

Didnt the 420 have a plastic timing gear that loses its teeth? Then neighbor had that happen to his.
