I bought this old Bessemer a few years back, at that time it had no oilers, no flywheels, no gas valves, no drillers wheel, and was locked up from setting in the trees covered in vines and briars for countless years. I have now got it to the point of being close to firing it up for the first time in many years.During the process of cleaning and reassembly I found the date 1956 stenciled into the connecting rod just in front of the cross slide, to my understanding that was a way of identifying when major repairs had been done.
