Could and would someone tell me which plugs etc. to remove and check the transmission/gear case lube and what type to use in it? or Call me @ 405.420.4530 to discuess. Thank you!

This has been discussed greatly. If I have time tommorow I will look back and see. I honestly forget what I use in the rear end.

One thing for sure NEVER run this tractor in the LOW of the torque (IE: with it pulled back) when cold. Fluid has to be warmed up so as not to do damage to the system.

I am surprised no one has amswered this question. I have a M602 operators manual somewhere but I found a M5 manual and I believe it is close enough. There are two plugs in the right side of the tranny, the one about behind the brakes is the level for the tranny/rear end. The one about a foot further forward is for the A/T compt. According to the M5 manual you need 14 gallons of SAE 80 gear oil that meets MIL-L-2105A. I understand many use HI-TRAN or similar.
It is possible that if levels are checked cold the tranny will show overfull and A/T will be low. The oil is thrown off the gears and catches in a trough on the side of the case and runs forward to fill the A/T, it then overflows back into the tranny. There is a plate or plug on the tranny top plate for filling. If you do not have an A/T you only need 12.5 gallons. As stated before be sure the oil is warm before using the A/T. While stationary you will probably find the tranny shifts easier if in low range (A/T) just do not use it cold.
