I just got a McCormick-Deering sickle bar sharpener at an auction. I would like to restore it back to original, but I cannot find the original color for it .I am not sure, but it looks like the whole thing use to be red even the wood handle at one time.

Thanks for the help

What I am asking is what is the color code or IHC red color for the time this was built that they would have used on this?

Considering that it was a fresh casting and then a light coat of enamel, It is doubtful that the intend color would match the results.

I know the red on it now is faded and was not as bright as it used to be, but are there paint codes out there for the original color this would have been? I have no idea what the original color was called either.

Thanks

That one was probably a gold demonstrator model Extremely rare. Used to sharpen sections for SHTA tractors. It's worth in excess of $5000.
