Finally had two minutes to look at my 400 deere again. I tore the carb apart and found some green gunk. Cleaned it up and blew it out. It started and ran just fine for 10min then it was right back to sputtering. I torn in the carb again expecting more gunk but it was clean. Put it back together again got it running still sputtering. I started wiggling things. I wiggled the coil and it ran fine. Let go and sputter. Come to find out the coil wasn't grounded good enough. Got it running again and it runs great! Now the deck belt broke.....

I have a friend that has a 400 engine runs great but it will not move. We have checked all the obvious ad many things that have already been suggested on here to no avail. I told him to take to the dealer. I am just an armature when it come to that stuff. |
