does anybody know where a transmission with Serial number 445/46850/03/1362 and it uses a spin on filter with number 581/18063 comes from? Is it from a JCB 3cx backhoe or not?

Check with a JCB dealer or place that is a dealer for Baldwin or another brand. They should have a listing and/or a cross reference chart.

There were two types of transmissions fitted to the JCB 3cx around the late eighties, the four speed with forward reverse shuttle known as the syncro did have a serial number starting with 445/,the power shift version serial number started with 449/,as suggested above the best bet to find out exactly is contact a JCB dealer.
