I may send a pic later but it sounds as if your missing the part that the spring hooks to. It's a little J shaped metal piece without the top T part. The spring hooks to the water pump and the other end to bottom of the J. |

Day jaw voo all over again! I think 2 tractors will have nightmires of coil springs too. I can't send a pic Terry, cause it seems to be a choice of what spring you find, how long and strong etc. I got one hooked to the back of the carb, another fit to a bolt, I would check the pictures in an old manual, even if they are drawings, they are usually accurate. |

i have the j hook on there, just not sure where it goes. took the motor apart 4 years ago, and just don"t remember anything! getting old sure is fun. |

i found a pic and as i thought, i"m missing the governor lever arm and plunger. has to be out in the shop somewhere. thanks for all the replys and emails! |
