First I am not a moline expert. Second I am not intending this for any tractor pulling. Now with a 40's early 50's u (row crop version) pre UB is it posible to ad a 3 point hitch and how functional is it? (the seat hangs over the back)What kind of hydraulic system does it have? Last questions. When did they do away with the one piece cylinder block-head?? Is it possible to ad the Live power axel cluth to these? Thanks to all who can help |

Split heads began mid 1947 with 283A4 engine which replaced the earlier KEF engine.
As to Live PTO, they were common on UB, but were available maybe as early as 1950 as I recall on U. As to adding one, you would need to change over to disc brake setup and special left shaft and a working LPTO and housing.
I have never seen the question as to adding - most often question is how to remove LPTO when the clutch has issues - and even thats a pain as you need the shorter disc brake shaft and housing but you at least keep the discs so no pain on right side. |
