Change the filter as well? Also I don't remember the capacity but make sure the oil level is to the check plug or a little above if it is a little hilly where you are.

on my 1655 the filler is under the floor board there is a round plug that you have to pry up and under that is the filler for the gear oil the level is on the right rear of the axel housing it takes about ten gallons to fill

Your fill plug and the check plug are both in the back. Do you do any PTO work with the tractor or a grade ? The capacity is also more than on a 1655. I will need to look the capacity up as I have not filled one in at least 36 years.Your filter is on the left side like on the 1655. J.
