Not a mechanic, but 310 dozer won't start. Sat 6 months. No fuel to the filter in front of carb, but comes out of tank fine. Is that a fuel pump on right side of engine or is this a gravity fed? Thanks |

As I remember the 310 gas had an electric fuel pump,it also had a sediment bowl that had an out of sight gauze filter in the top, take the glass off and you will find it above the rubber gasket,a slight knock on the fuel pump often got them going again if they had stopped, they will only work when the ignition is on.

Thanks, AJ, that's what I needed to know. Have a neighbor kid that works on equipment, after I 'knock' on it and no luck, I'll call him. |

If you replace the fuel pump get the lowest pressure and vol. you can find doesnt take much to keep these fuel sippers running and you dont want to force the needle to open under pressure |

Look for a small valve handle on the input side of the sediment bowl, this would be a fuel shutoff valve. Some sediment bowls have them, some don't. |
