what i seem to have here is a 1962 Bolens ride a matic versadrive? powered by a 7hp Kohler k161 engine. I came across this and was wondering if it rare or valuable? Im looking for a project to restore and didn"t know if this would be worth the hassle? It seems to have almost all the original cowlings, starts right up and drives fine. thanks Jake |

Last winter I restored a Simplicity "Land Lord'. It was fun. My opinion is if your going to restore an old machine for a profit, you probally shouldn't do it. just my 2 cents. |

Anything that old is collectible. Especially if they don't make them any more. I just Googled "Bolens rideamatic garden tractor and found a link with the history of the company. As MtMan said, if you expect to do it for profit, you will likely be disappointed. However, if you do it just for fun and the fun of showing them then go for it. there are few things more rewarding than bringing an old piece of iron back to life and making it look new again. |
