Another excellent rod that you can use is "Castolin" (TM) Eutectic , it can be used with either AC or DC welders . I have used this rod to weld a broken tooth on a bull-gear on a very large mine hoist; and also to repair the broken mounting ear on the exhaust manifold of a 6-71 Detroit in a fire truck.
