Hi,
Any assistance on how to date an Allis B would be appreciated. Are there any casting daters/codes that will confirm date of manufacture.
Regards,
Barry |

Should be a serial # stamped on a flat spot just in front on the stifting lever on the transmission housing, Will start with B. Post that and will be able to date it for you. |

Just forward of the shifter should be stamped the serial number and if a true B will start with B followed by a few numbers. That is the serial number. Then you go to the right of this page and look in research and info then serial numbers then AC then B and see where that number fit into the list of numbers listed |

To further pin it down, take the valve cover off and look at the bottom of the cavities in the head , there will be a head casting date. So if you know it to be a 1942 and the casting date is 6-25-42 you will know that the tractor was made in the last half of the year. That assumes the head is still original. |
