I'm thinking about painting my wheel horse pulling tractor. What I would like to do to the hood and fenders is clear coat over exsisting paint and rust with a low gloss type of clear coat if there is such a thing. How would you prep for such a thing? Any Ideas? thanks, Dave S |

A lot of people building old rat rods and stuff do that. You can get semi gloss or flat clear or you can buy flattening agent and flatten the gloss to your liking your self. Most that I have seen do it scuff it all over with a green scuff pad and clean it real good and shoot it. |

Put clear over rust and it will flake and fall off in a year. There is an art to "re-creating" weathered vehicles which is really catching on now but it doesn't include spraying clear over existing rust. |
