Here's what I've been doing lately. Just need an operators manual and a place to buy the decals.

did you take the old disc plow out and use it before you started painting.
from my experience with my old disc plow the back roller wheel must have a good blade. This blade is what makes the disc plow work.
my experience has been if the rear wheel disc is not in good repair the disc plow will not track and pull to the side all the time.
take a look at this picture i found of a jd disc plow and check out the blade on the rear wheel.
I really enjoy plowing with an old disc plow, they back up from nothing, if the tractor can roll over it and push it down, the disc plow will try to up root it and flip it over.
They do leave the ground a bit rough, but will plow where flat bottoms fear to tread.
Good luck with your plow,

You have the same plow that I have. I bought it to put on the back of my 520. It'll likely be a show piece. I realize that it needs the blades on the rear wheel to work right. I just didn't even try to find or make them, since I had no plans to use it. |

no, i do not own a JD disc plow, I just found a picture of a JD disc plow that showed the rear wheel blade.
I have a Ferguson (Bullet) disc plow.
But since you are not going to use the old plow, it will not matter the rear wheel blade is worn down.
However, if you ever do decide to replace the rear wheel disc blade, we got a large coulter blade at the equipment store and placed it under the old blade, centered it and blew the attachment holes out.
Using this method, it fit like a glove.
Picture of our Ferguson disc plow attached.
