I'll have to check for sure but I think the number on my Super 99gm is stamped Nelson# M70017. I know it is original. The Oliver diesel uses a different muffler. Are you looking for both mufflers?

The early 990 Oliver p/n is 7A-452-B. To s/n 84 582.
The late 990 Oliver p/n is 103 418-A. From s/n 84 583.
Maybe this will help in a possible x-ref. Good luck. |

I know the inlet where it slides on the exhaust manifold is 3 7/16" or 3 1/2". Do you want one that looks similar or exact original? The original should have two welded rings around the center of the muffler. If you can"t find an original I found one in the A&I parts book listed under an 1100 Massey diesel. I"m not sure if its a Nelson or Stanley. We put it on our 990 and it looks and sounds good. If you want that part# send me an email. For some reason the site won"t upload my photos, I can email them too if you want.

I work for Nelson Global Products (formerly Nelson a long time ago!) and have been following this and spent lots of time on our online catalog at home and old print catalogs when I have the time at work trying to find this. As far as I can tell it's probably been obsoleted, BUT it you have the dimensions of the inlet, outlet, and body length, you can come up with something that would work. Look in the NGP005 catalog and it's probably a type 1 or 2 muffler. The website is, (delete the spaces) nelson global products . com Hope this helps! |

Here is a picture of a Stanley muffler I put on my 990. It sounds pretty good.

Looks like a great replica! mine is coming along as well. The nelson muffler is obsolete as most oliver stuff is but found a muffler from riker mufflers here in town that looks very close except for the outlet diameter but hey what can u do without the funding or tools for the job. |
