Thanks to all that answered my post regarding county surplus generator. Bought it for $200 Sat morning at auction. Not a ton of interest in it as our local auction primarly brings out the car buyers. Figured worth the risk if she runs. Also got transfer switch, exercisor, control box ect. Pretty old stuff but all was good when new power system went in. Anyway, Billy Shafer, I"ve followed board long enough to know your the resident Onan guru. Do you have private E-mail address? I have several questions regarding this specific unit, if you would have the time to answer a couple , it would be much apprciated. E-Mail is open. Thanks, Tom B.

Our city purchased a 7.5 kw Onan from Federal
Surplus Property and Cummins/Onan (Sioux falls, SD) has been very helpful. They have e-mailed me the operators, parts and service manual no charge.

Tom sent you a message. Be careful with the air exhaust on the front. It does move some air. You can change the direction of it.Point it down to dirt and you will get a dust cloud. Looks like you have many options on it. What is the number of the switch. I would guess LTE 30 or LTEU 30 was the most common used with that unit.

You are lucky. Finding a Cummins shop willing to help is getting rare.

You got that right! We used to run a lot of Onan but have speced them out of our purchases due to Cummins service and parts prices.

Sad to see a company to go down hill as bad as Cummins is doing.
