My uncle has a cream separator that was handed down to him. He would like to use it but is concerned with what type of oil it should have. It is either a McCormick Deering or IH. I don't know the model. Would some Hy-Trans work just fine? Can you get manuals for them? Any info would be helpful.
Thanks

Jason we sold cream when I was a kid. We started out with a De Laval hand crank cream separator and when we switched over to selling milk we were using a McCormick Deering electric separator. If I rember right the oil used in them was a light weight oil. There are some manuals on Ebay but don't know if they are for your model.I don't know if you will want one if you there starting price. |

We had the exact same thing, BUT our first was a SL hand crank, and our second was an electric, then the folks ended up with a McC. They used Riley Bros Seperator Oil. I think they are still in business. |
