|
|
I have a Johndeer 325 Lawn Tractor 48" deck. date of manufacturer was 03/97. 17HP Air cool. Engine numbers are FC540VA67606 Kawasaki . The mechanic claimed that the head of the engine is no good which is causing it to freeze on crank. If any one has one I can be contacted at the above email or 770-629-1918 email again is carl1881@rocketmail.com. dont matter if the HP is higher aslong is it will work on the 325
Thanks , |

Try Ebay for a used head.
You might be able to get a small engine or motorcycle shop to rebuild the head. If not seriously broken parts on the head, valves and valve guides(bushings) can be replaced.
It could also be the valves are out of adjustment which will make it hard to crank. If it is hydraulic lifters, then the engine needs to be opened up to replace them.
I also suggest a voltage drop test from the battery to the solenoid to the starter with a multi meter. Search youtube for a video for the principle. |

The mower has been in the family since it was new so I would kind of like to rebuild. It still runs I just have a knock. This started right after some smoke from the exaust but it still runs. |
