I just bought a 40 diesel I just wanted to know what the tractor is worth after I restore it. Thanks for the help

Hard telling what it will be worth. If you are looking to restore it and then sell it you probably wont mke any money on it. People do this and try to sell tractors at a inflated price and not many of them ever sell. Restoring for yourself to keep can be fun and a time consuming hobby. Have fun and enjoy!

ya may as well sell it now before you put a nickle into it. And not to be smart, but if you are looking to make a few bucks, don't start restoring tractors !!

If you have to work on the engine you are going to put a ton of money in it and won't get it back.

Just finished one cost for tractor 3000.00 pump total (rebuildable pump rebuild injectors 1500.00 local diesel shop as I cannot do my own any longer another 1500.00 Total 6ooo.oo. TWO year wait on one fellow who was supposted to rebuild pump!! As the adv says not good investment Wanted it for nostelga. priceless to me!!!! Not going to paint as their only orginal once.

Very difficult to even get your money back, much less make anything. And this is even when you do most or all of the work yourself.

If you can paint yourself and swap an engine in and out you might make a buck. People dont have the money to buy a restored tractor anymore but might have something to trade. Some people cant get what they got in the motor for the whole tractor. The 230 engine can be a money pit id look for gleanor combine 262s or a 301 they are a little easier to find. You wont have trouble selling 230 rods pullers want them.
