I just brought home the rc. The serial number is 265 the motor is stuck. Looking at it it looks to have been repainted but has old decals. my question is under the old paint on the whole tractor has yellow paint. Is that a primer or not. Will upload photos this weekend. Thanks Todd

The yellow is probably a primer and the seat is probably aftermarket. I've never seen those rear wheels on an RC, didn't think any of them came out with those. Are the front wheels 15", that would be right for the RC.

Hi Todd.....Nice find.

From what I see you have rear rims from a WC. The Monroe seat was an aftermarket product not an option and the steering wheel is also not original but one used on later RC models.

Yes front wheels are 15. Looks like almost new. it is missing the belt pulley bust has something with a lever in its place. Took off the valve cover and everything is Straight and oil is on the normal range on the dip stick. Not bad I think for 400

rc appears to have a IH distrubtor on it, those rims come from a 1939 WC. also appears that it is labeled as a CA?

The lever is part of the mechanical lift for a cultivator or other mounted equipment. You can't have that mounted and leave the belt pulley on. I also believe that the RC belt pulley assembly is different than a WC one if you plan on shopping for one.

The "lever" is for a mechanical lift for a two row cultivator or a lister. The difference with the pulley assembly is in only the pulley- it is the same as the pulley on a B/C...smaller diameter, and pressed steel, not cast. Monroe seat was not standard- it"s aftermarket.

The seat is not original but some later RC's did use WC rims. After all your RC is a WC chassis with a "B" engine.Nice looking tractor! Good thing you got it. Not too many RC's around. They were built from 1939-1941.
