I've got a 1950 TO-20 Ferguson with small PTO shaft. Can I purchase a sleeve that slides over the small shaft and make it the larger size so I can use a belt pulley off a Ford 3000?
If so, where can I purchase.
Thanks |

The last one I saw was on ebay and it did exactly what you said, it slid over the 1-1/8 shaft and turned it into a 1-3/8 shaft. To the best of my knowledge there hasn't been many like that. I thought it was a rather nice way to make it. Of course that was maybe 6 months ago. |

At some point in time u will most likely want an overrun clutch for the PTO. VERY ADVISAEABLE for Bushhogging. Maybe find such a clutch to fit the 1-1/8 tractor shaft but ccepts a 1-3/8 implement drive shaft. |

Agri Supply sells that. You probably can find them via search engine. They have a mail order business as well as a few stores. |

Your best bet it to get the larger tractor PTO shaft and install it. The wife was working the fergy when the adapter broke. The front 1/2 of the PTO drive shft came loose and went sailing past her head and missed her by maybe a foot at best. No more adapters for me. Another reason that new adapters are hard to find. The rumor of pending lawsuits might be believable. |

There are several types of adapters that cobvert the old 1 1/8 " shaft to a 1 3/8" shaft. The better ones are machined and are epinned in place. i use one on my TO-30 but I have a new 1 3/8" shaft waiting in the wings to replace the small shaft with. |

Got an old Fergie, it came with an adaptor that bolted to pto housing, has a bearing built right in. No wobbly adaptors and looks like a factory pto. Dad drove a baler with it for years. |
