|
|
I purchased a 135 gas that has been sitting outside for about 2 years. The fluid in the rear end and tranny is a yellow color. What do I need to replace it with and how much. What else do I need to look for. Have changed engine oil, cleaned gas tank, and rebuilt the carb. Have not started it yet. Thanks. |

Drain transmission by removing plug at bottom , rinse with small amount of kerosine / motor oil mixture . drain completely them refill with any brand of Transdraulic fluid . Found at your autosupply, tractor dealer, or Tractor supply stores . there should be a dip stick on the side of the transmission . ps. there should also be a refill plug at the top of xmission . good luck ! |

Don't over look the other plug under the gearbox.Gearbox and trans casing use the same oil and filler hole but have 2 drain plugs.
15W30 or 15w 40 oil is perfect for this tranny. |

Use MF Perma-Tran 821XL if you want it to work the best. |

I've used nothing but Pennzoil Hy Tran for 40+ years in my 150. Have a neighbor who uses nothing but NAPA Hy Tran with same excellent results. I can't get behind paying extra for MF branded oil cans that contain the same stuff as less expensive brands, especially since the MF brand has no additional benefits.... |
