What size tire is supposed to be used on an FB model drill. The ones on it now, and were on it when I bought ir are 9.50 - 15 implement tires, and seem pretty tall. Sometimes I can look back and see a boot or two in the air an inch or two. On the places that are nice and level I don't see that. Get in any parts of a field that have small ridges and the seed drops on the surface. I guess the cover chains drag enough dirt over the seed to get it to germinate. Mark

I'll have to check when I get home, but I think the ones on mine are 6.0 by 15.

Wrong tire will also affect seeding rates. You may be able to download a parts manual from mother Deere.

I have 7.00-15 truck tires on my B drill and they seem to be about right.

The book for my B calls for 6.70-15.

I think ours has 7.50 x 15, which is the largest tire size listed in the manual.

The 6 lug wheel for a FB drill is JD894(subs to a JD680) which is a 5"X15" so 6.70X15 is correct for a FB also. As stated a larger diameter tire will cause drill to put out less seed than chart shows.
