|
|
My son bought a 5 furrow Ford plow which we believe to be a 142. We have one furrow which trips out all the time. The trip mechanism is spring loaded. We've tried tightening the trip but still trips repeatedly. If we have the model correct, could anyone have some advice for us and if possible,a parts diagram as well. All the old Ford dealers here have passed away and New Holland is no help. Thanks. |

Is it a safety trip or an auto-reset? I believe that is a Pittsburgh-built plow, that preceded the late model White-built plows. |

Tim -
I would call it an auto-reset as it has 2 spring on each side to make the reset. Thanks |

Here's the auto-reset bottom. It has vertical springs.

You'll have to click on the auto-reset link (figure 016)on the side. I thought the picture would come up with the link to the page but it doesn't. I'm not familiar with the workings of the auto-reset. Figures 013 and 015 are the two different spring trips used. 015 is the 30" high pivot safety trip that has 2 horizontal springs. If that's what you have, I'd look at the trip roller assembly, as it may not be latching correctly. |
