Trailer Rotortiller

I found this Trailer Rototiller about 30 miles south of Green Bay. Any information is appreciated as to Make, etc. The metal ID tag is broke off and there is remnants of orange paint. It is almost 7 feet till width. Was it made for 40+ hp tractors before there were 3 point hitches? I will attempt a picture.

That's interesting. I wonder if someone converted it from a conventional one, never saw anything like it.

I also thought it was modified, but I cannot see that it had been an original 3 point. There is a top link attach point, but no lower attachment points visible unless they really did a neat grinding job. Other conversions I've seen it is obvious; I have an idea to add the lower 3 point pins, but I intend to use it for garden, food plot, and along driveway contouring and I got 60 acres and 1/4 mile driveway so the trailer will be ok. I plow garden in fall and will till it in spring with this; once back and forth!

I thought that also. I have a 43 horse NH2120; but I plan to keep plowing in fall and would use it in spring instead of the little walk behind. I cannot take all that vibration the little ones send to my shoulders and back. Son-in-law has a deer food plot that we plow first so tilling should work after that. I don't plan to break sod at all. My little 3 point double 6 foot disc only preps the top 3 inches and the hardpan under doesn't work for the crops. I figure this should do better. His 45 horse Leyland makes the slip clutches work so he changes speed.

I have seen those advertised years ago. For them you would need the extra slow speeds that the older crawler tractors had as at that time no live pto with a slow enough ground speed, and what they were designed for 40 horse would work it but then they were not planed to go more than a couple of inches deep not like they run the tillers now.

The tines aren't that long; they aren't any longer than my 3.5 horse Gilson...

I'm pretty sure I saw an ad for that or one similar in an old Country Gentleman or The Farmer magazine from the 50's. Can;t recall a brand name at all.

Traditionally Ag tractors stated PTO HP while compact tractors are often listed by engine HP. Your 2120 is 43 engine HP and 35 Pto HP. Take this into consideration when looking at the HP requirement of equipment.

I think I have seen one like this before. It was a Howard brand. The same company that makes the Rotovator. They also make rototillers. They are an old company.

Yours having the short tines is because in years past a rototiller was just a seed bed tool not the primary tillage tool like they are today. You would have plowed the ground in front of the one you have. It would have just replaced a disk and drag.
